Supporting Your Hispanic Students in Academic LibrariesUnder Contract

Isabel Soto-Luna is currently collaborating with Sommer Browning on a manuscript tentatively titled “Supporting Your Hispanic Students in Academic Libraries.” As the Hispanic population on our campuses grows there are hundreds of colleges and universities designated as “Hispanic Serving Institutions.” However, this is only part of the picture, as there are many more institutions of higher education with large Latinx populations that do not have this designation. This book seeks to bring attention to the important and exciting work being done in the libraries of these institutions and to serve as a guide for library staff who are searching for new programs and fresh ways of reaching their Hispanic students. The book is slated to be published through Library Juice press in May of 2022 and will be part of their Series on Critical Race Studies and Multiculturalism in LIS. Creative Commons Certification Final Project

Isabel Soto-Luna and Lona Oerther created a docu-series of videos with OER creators/adapters/adopters from CSU Pueblo and other institutions throughout the world that have utilized CC licenses. The plan is to use these interviews, also copyrighted under a CC license, as a tool to explain and encourage the use of CC licenses with other faculty considering creating/adapting/adopting OERs of their own. Follow the link below to view the videos.
